Prototyping

Just got a few requests to do some prototyping, i’m looking forward to it. hopefully it will springboard into something else. i’ll prob update after the fact, as usual.

but on the bright side, i am in the works of starting up my own business. currently utilizing ‘square’ to accept credit card payments for work, selling things at philly’s ‘first fridays’. keeping busy and making things. new pics on the other page thing ‘proceed to step two’ check em out if you like.

in four days

i graduate from my university. i should make an obvious exited post or something.

things have slowed down.

in order to get all necessary projects and deliverables done in time to graduate, I Must put this project on hold for a bit, and will reassess it afterwards, when I have the time to. Regardless This will be made sooner or later, and it Will work as planed.

recent news, advancements

Added additional nozzle to test out a system for multiple outputs. Using new larger compressor- successful, currently with two outputs, soon to be three. Finalizing details on materiality and process. Jig crafting soon to be. Strongly considering Turning Plaster form to create form, then vacuum-forming styrene with the form. Previously considered slump-formed Corian (R) with steel support...

it’s been a while, other deadlines became important, but now im back on track. just bought some items soon to be used/documented on here. the list includes: -RITDYE brand dyes for dying sands [powder and liquid] -Metal 5 Gallon Paint Mixer [drill attachment] -5 Gallon Bucket & Lid ….. still needed: Screen Mesh for drying sands ….guess you can put one and two...

life and thesis are currently my main focus

Sorry for a lack of posts recently. I have been focusing on a thesis/ capstone project that is alongside of this. I think my prototype has taught me much, and now I am designing the final form. I’ll post pics as soon as progress is made. current form: this is constantly changing and evolving every day.

Comment if you would like any information! working scale prototype. seeing this in real-life does it more justice, but you’ll get the idea. next step: figuring out how to use neodymium magnets correctly to hold pieces on [partially explored] and making the Full Scale works-like, looks-like version. overall estimated size [TBD] 4’x3’x5’ maybe (?)

redefining form for thesis proposal, and getting parts for my other [play] project, the one with sand. I’m excited to see it as a stand-alone installation. I have a feeling it won’t be a walk in the park.

ive been so freakin busy with classes and design i completely forgot to post pics… yea my bad

so i decided to design/make... something odd.

a sand fountain/waterfall sort of thing. no liquid, only sand. a cascading wall of sand, able to majestically be interrupted and broken, and falls poetically. pics after its done. tl;dr Making a Working Sand fountain for design project. Never been done. any input appreciated.
